National Bounce Back Day Pogo-Thon to support mental health organisation BeyondBlue
JUMPING on pogo sticks is an acquired skill, and sometimes you fall off – but you can pick yourself up with the support of people around you. The same is true in life.
Inner west primary school children can bounce into action for mental health on Friday, October 16 at the world-first National Bounce Back Day Pogo-Thon, led by Tempe Public School.
Students across Australia will bounce on pogo sticks for one hour to raise money for BeyondBlue, which spreads knowledge of mental health and empower people to seek help and supports recovery and resilience.
Pogo Pulse creator Barton Williams will train teachers in the Pogo Pulse method, who will supervise as teams of students at registered schools collectively bounce for an hour to raise funds.
“The National Bounce Back Day Pogo-Thon allows all children to learn about bouncing back and being resilient,” Mr Williams said.
“Exciting things will take place such as special guests, prizes and dressing up.”
