In an unforgettable day filled with laughter, courage and community spirit, Pogo Pulse proudly delivered a special charity Pogo Stick Fun Day at Nha Xa Hoi Long Hai, a school supporting socially disadvantaged children in South Vietnam.
The event was made possible through the incredible support and generosity of Flybar — the world’s original pogo stick company — together with the compassionate humanitarian work of Hoi Con Tim Me and Sowing Seeds of Hope Australia.
Founded by Barton C. Williams and Pogo Pulse, the Pogo Pulse program uses pogo stick riding to build confidence, resilience, coordination, physical fitness and emotional wellbeing in children and young adults around the world. Barton C. Williams a fellow Vietnamese adoptee, was flown to Australia for a new life in 1975 as part of the world’s largest humanitarian adoption program called; OPERATION BABYLIFT 1975!
It’s no surprise that Barton C. Williams knows a thing or two about being resilient and Bouncing Back; pun intended!
Despite the challenging conditions of approximately 85°F heat and 90% humidity, the enthusiasm and energy of the children never faded. In fact, while perspiration poured from faces throughout the day, the smiles of joy and excitement shone even brighter.
Children participated in world-class pogo stick tuition led personally by Barton C. Williams, learning essential skills including balance, perseverance, focus and self-belief through progressive and safe pogo instruction. Many of the children had never experienced pogo stick riding before, yet by the end of the day they were bouncing confidently, cheering one another on and celebrating every small success.
The highlight of the event came at the conclusion of the fun day, when every participating child received their very own pogo stick and brand-new safety helmet to take home — a gift representing not just fun, but opportunity, movement and hope.
The charity event perfectly embodied the Pogo Pulse philosophy:
“Life has its ups and downs, but it is all about picking yourself up and trying again.”
The day served as far more than just a sporting activity. It became a celebration of resilience, human connection and the universal language of play. Through every bounce, children discovered that challenges can be overcome, confidence can grow, and joy can be shared.
